Presidential memorabilia was again a popular commodity in the 2008 US Election despite tough economic times with a variety of items again on the most-popular list.
Campaigning through T-shirts was a great success for both the parties. Both parties popularise their message through t-shours with images, names and slogans of the main Presidential candidates.

Over 1.7 million Obama T-shirts were sold out before the announcement of the result of US Election. Most of the T-shirt manufacturers exploited Barack Obama’s popularity and gained huge profits as a result. Some companies could not deliver the orders due to the excess demand for this and many other Obama collectables.
Obama stickers were also available and came as bumper stickers, oval stickers, rectangle stickers and lapel stickers. These were the popular ones with various messages and images of Obama. Its perfect designs captured everyone’s eyes. It was sold out in the packet of fifty and hundred. It costs from $4.99 to $6.99 for the packet of fifty stickers. It made huge impact on Obama’s campaigning.
Bags were again one of best sellers. As the Obama camp gained popularity, these bags are largely sold out. Available in a variety of sizes many suppliers offered free shipping and quick delivery. As people ordered more, many companies had worked overtime to deliver the orders. These bags cost from $12.99 to 29.99.
Obama Buttons and Pins were still by far the most popular ones. Costing from $2 to $6 you could get them from the official Obama website and from numerous outlets and campaign offices. They were introduced it as a part of donation campaigning and have had a positive effect and increased the popularity of Barack Obama and his resulting win. The Obama camp (and the manufacturers) gained millions of dollars through the sale of these buttons and pins.
In addition to these items, once the election result was known the President Obama promotional machine went into high gear with numerous other items being released including the Obama Inaugural Dollar which was released by the US Mint and has rapidly become a must-have item for coin collection and sentimential historians alike.

Barack Obama II is the President-elect of the United States and the junior United States Senator from Illinois. Obama is the first African American to be elected President of the United States.
He is a graduate of Columbia College of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was president of the Harvard Law Review. Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004.
Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003, won a primary victory in March 2004, and was elected to the Senate in November 2004. Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004.
As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he helped create legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During the 110th Congress, he helped create legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel.
On February 10, 2007, he announced his candidacy for President of the United States, and on June 3, 2008, he was named the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party after a 17-month-long primary campaign. He became the President-elect after defeating Republican presidential candidate John McCain in the general election on November 4, 2008, and is due to be sworn in as President of the United States on January 20, 2009.
